The Parque Nacional Ballena Marina was created in February 1990 to protect the shoreline of Bahía de Coronado plus 4,500 hectares of water surrounding Isla Ballena. The park extends south for 15 kilometers from Uvita to Punta Piñuela, and about 15 kilometers out to sea. The park harbors within its relatively small area important mangroves and a large coral reef.
Olive ridley and hawksbill turtles come ashore May–November to lay their eggs (September and October are the best months to visit) and dolphins frolic offshore.

The sites are spaced consciously to ensure privacy for our residents. You’ll often forget you even have neighbors. There is plenty of breathing room for all of us as we value privacy and the sanctuary of home deeply! All of the sites have ocean views to enjoy with lots of jungle around them. We want it to be easy to feel that you are away from it all here in paradise yet still have a feeling of community and connection to others when you need or want it!
The vision we are committed to is to preserve as much of the land as possible to create a natural sanctuary surrounding the home sites! We want the monkeys and all of the other creatures to stick around, and we will be creating an environment that will attract and sustain more flora and fauna for many generations to come.
We’ve taken care of the details for you and can offer you long term property support (caretaking, etc) if you desire, to ensure your home is safe, taken care of and loved when you are not here.
